It’s rare to see a boutique hotel truly understand how to deliver exceptional hospitality—better than many luxury hotels I’ve experienced. Before I arrived, the hotel proactively connected with me to provide necessary assistance and insights for the trip. We landed at midnight and booked a car through the hotel (they also allowed us to pay later at the hotel, which was very thoughtful). Communication was incredibly smooth. The driver was already waiting for us, and when we arrived at the hotel, it was raining heavily. The night staff warmly welcomed us and guided us to our room. Although they don’t offer 24-hour service, they managed to cover all our needs and more. provided a lot recommendations for things to discover, foods to try, local shops to visit, and even spa suggestions. We enjoyed every moment and every detail of our stay at this hotel. From the freshly made wholesome breakfast options(with an impressive Asian special) to the curated selection of books and antiques in the common area, every interaction with the staff was delightful. You can feel that this hotel has a great team, good people, and a clear purpose to offer the very best to every guest. The vibe is warm and welcoming, and their passion and service come straight from the heart.

Leading up to our arrival and from the moment we stepped foot inside the accommodation, we instantly felt welcomed. The accommodation preserves the classic and beautiful mews structure but the rooms have been renovated to be super modern and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful, offering many suggestions and routes to help us navigate through Georgetown. They even offered to book a restaurant that was highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. We had breakfast prepared every morning and enjoyed it poolside which was a great way to start our day, with orders taken the day before. There are many thoughtful details left by staff during our stay that really made an impression. When we first arrived, homemade coconut biscuits had been left in our room to sample. As our stay coincided with Easter, we were left with a small Easter egg gift Sunday evening when we returned after a day of exploring. Finally during check-out, staff left us with a departing gift - a beautifully iced biscuit in the shape of a baju kurung (Malaysian traditional female dress) with a “thank you” note attached. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return and highly recommend this to any other travellers!

Noordin News is an excellent place to stay while in Penang. Location-wise, it is walking distance to Komtar and the surrounding areas. But one thing that really stands out is the staff. They took care of us well. One in particular is Eve, who took care of us even before we left KL for Penang, communicating with us via whatsapp that enable a speedy check-in for us. She engaged us in conversations, informing us of the goings-on in the city which may interest us. She was accommodating to our needs. We experienced an unscheduled water disruption in the morning on our last day (we hadn’t showered yet) and she extended our checkout time to 3pm so that we can shower (water restored around 1 pm) before our train ride home to KL in the evening. We appreciated the little gestures (first night was sweets, second night peanut biscuits and muruku on the third night because it was Deepavali) and Ferrero Roche on our second day as there was a water disruption (we were out the whole day and it didn’t affect us). It was a pet-friendly hotel but we were not bothered by it as the dogs were always on a leash and attended to by their owners. The breakfast was exceptionally good, with a different Asian plate every day.

I stayed at Noordin Mews for four nights. The staff were very friendly, and on the first day, they provided a map and introduced nearby spots to explore. The room was kept very clean as well. I recommend this place to anyone visiting George Town. If you want to experience the style of a heritage house, this is a great choice. The location is excellent; famous buildings and food spots in George Town are within walking distance. Taking a Grab ride costs less than 10 MYR. If you want to visit other attractions like Penang Hill, it’s about 20+ MYR for a 30-40 minute ride. Rooms5.0Service5.0Location5.0 Walkability: Noordin Mews is conveniently located between Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion and the Clan Jetties. If you enjoy walking and taking in the cityscape, this location is perfect for you, and the distance isn’t too far. Food and drinks: Nearby, there are the famous Lebuh Kimberley and Lebuh Carnarvon, as well as Chulia Street. A bit further, you can reach Lebuh Armenian and Lebuh Cannon, both famous food spots.

This is the most incredible place - a beautiful oasis in the hustle and bustle of George Town. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are well decorated, the bed is comfy and the breakfast options were all delicious. The real show stoppers are the staff and service - every single person we came into contact with was warm, welcoming and could not do enough to make our stay better. We were provided with loads of information on how to make the best of our stay during check-in. There were also some incredible touches including local snacks and information cards each night before bed. The hotel also arranged a tour for us with a local guide Joann which was a real highlight and would highly recommend the food and cultural tour. I’m almost sad that I might never like somewhere else as much again. Thank you so much to the team at Noordin Mews.
